How to Apply to Graduate

Grossmont College awards Associate Degrees and Certificates of Achievement three times a year at the end of the fall, spring and summer semesters. However, the Annual Commencement Ceremony is held once a year in spring.

Filing an Application for Graduation

It is the responsibility of the student who expects to graduate –that's you! – to have all college transcripts on file prior to filing an application for graduation.

Complete the application and file it before the deadline for the semester in which you plan to complete requirements for a degree. (See Academic Calendar in front of catalog or class schedule for exact deadlines.)

If you are not in continuous attendance at Grossmont College, be aware that you must meet degree requirements listed in the catalog in effect at the time of re-admission.

You may choose to meet requirements in a catalog published after your re-admission provided you remain in continuous attendance.

Graduation Filing Process

To apply for graduation:

  1. Provide official transcripts from all other colleges attended (for degree applicants)
  2. Schedule a counseling appointment if you are not sure that you have met degree/certificate requirements
  3. Meet the deadline to apply for a degree/certificate
  4. Fill ou the online application or apply in person in the Admissions and Records Office
