Grossmont College Guitar Ensemble
Grossmont College Guitar Ensemble
Director, Sean Bassett (sean.bassett@gcccd.edu)
The Grossmont College Guitar Ensemble is a performance group consisting of intermediate
to advanced students. The emphasis of this class is on sight-reading and performance
practice. Each semester, the ensemble gives two concerts, including one travel performance.
The Grossmont College Guitar Ensemble performs music from the renaissance, baroque,
classical, and romantic eras of Western Classical Music as well as arrangements of
modern rock, pop, video game, and film genres. While most of the music is performed
as a larger guitar orchestra, there is and opportunity for students to play chamber
works with other ensemble members at performances.
Students need to audition or have permission from the instructor to join the ensemble.
For specific audition requirements, please refer to the information below under “Auditions.”
Students who have previously enrolled in the course do not need to re-audition.
If you have specific questions about the audition process or joining the course, please
feel free to contact Mr. Sean Bassett at sean.bassett@gcccd.edu
