Philosophy

What is truth?

Philosophy represents one of the oldest disciplines at any college, and yet remains one of the most contemporary. To start, philosophers question ideas about truth, justice, knowledge, and beauty.  At Grossmont College, Philosophy courses range from `A General Introduction' to `Latin American Philosophy' to `Bioethics’ and `Critical Thinking.’ This major not only provides a solid background for transfer in the subject to four-year institutions, but also satisfies anyone who finds common, everyday answers lacking. If you believe the unexamined life is not worth living, major in Philosophy.

Duration
The Philosophy department offers an Associate Degree in Arts for Transfer (ADT), and it is designed to be completed in 2 years (4 semesters)
