"The Meaning of AAPI" Panel Talk

August 13, 2021

Hosts: Desmond Morente and June Yang

Description: "In this presentation, we will consider what it means to be AAPI by considering the “Model Minority Myth.” We will examine a few classifications to help deconstruct this view that AAPI persons are a homogenous group whose members do not require attention. Academics, economics, cultural and communication tendencies are amongst those classifications to be discussed. This session is intended to promote a more accurate understanding of who our AAPI students are and how we as faculty and staff can assist their success with student support services and in the classroom."
