President's Leadership Award

 

Eligibility for award: The President's Leadership Award is designed not only to recognize leadership in service to students, faculty and staff, but also to encourage continuation of that excellence. The nominees, therefore, need not necessarily have a long record of distinguished service, but their service must demonstrate outstanding attributes.
Selected by: President's Cabinet
Process organized by: College President, College Recognition Committee
Selection criteria: Five criteria established by College Recognition Committee
  1. Possesses and exhibits exceptional, positive personal characteristics;
  2. Exhibits extraordinary professional skill and behavior;
  3. Communicates effectively;
  4. Uses highly effective interpersonal skills;
  5. Leads by example; is able to articulate and implement the vision and mission of the college as exemplified through his/her behavior; and consistently uplifts the college community to a higher level of moral, ethical, and functional efficacy.
Selection schedule: Nominations solicited from Grossmont College community during the Fall semester. Recipient is announced at the college convocation event during professional development week in the spring, and acknowledged at an Annual Recognition Awards Ceremony in May.
