Ordering & Services

What types of requests can I submit?

Printing Services accepts Quick Copy requests, specialty printing orders, and office supply orders.

What is the difference between Quick Copy and Printing Orders?

Quick Copy is intended for black-and-white materials such as exams, quizzes, syllabi, and handouts. Printing Orders are used for specialty projects including color printing, posters, flyers, business cards, letterhead, envelopes, books, NCR forms, and lamination.

How do I order office supplies?

Office supplies can be ordered through the online store in Print Shop Pro.

Can I submit requests by email?

No. Printing Services does not accept job requests submitted by email. All requests must be submitted through the online ordering system.

Is double-sided printing more economical?

Yes. Double-sided printing typically reduces paper usage, creates a smaller finished package, and may reduce certain finishing costs.

How do I order business cards, flyers, posters, or other graphic design projects?

Submit a project request through Creative Services. Once the design is complete, the job will be produced by Printing Services.

How do I order college letterhead and envelopes?

Letterhead and envelope orders are outsourced and processed during the first week of each month. Completion typically takes one to two weeks. Please plan accordingly.

File Requirements

What file types are accepted?

Microsoft Office documents and PDF files are accepted.

I use a Mac. Are there any special requirements?

Yes. Macintosh users should save or convert files to PDF before submitting.

Can I submit image files?

Image files such as JPG, GIF, and TIFF are accepted; however, printed formatting cannot be guaranteed.

Can Printing Services edit, resize, convert, or redesign my files?

No. Files must be submitted print-ready. Printing Services does not convert, resize, edit, or otherwise modify submitted files.

Can I submit multiple files with one order?

Generally, only one file attachment is allowed per submission. If multiple files need to be combined, note this in the Special Instructions section.

Should I provide a hard copy?

Yes. Providing a hard copy is recommended to help ensure the final product matches your expectations.

Color Printing & Specialty Services

Can I get copies printed in color?

Yes. Color printing is available. Because color jobs require additional production time, you may be asked to submit the job and return later for pickup.

Does color printing require approval?

Yes. All color printing and lamination requests require Dean approval.

Can I request lamination services?

Yes. Lamination services are available and require Dean approval before production.

Turnaround & Pickup

What are your turnaround times?

Turnaround times vary based on project type, quantity, finishing requirements, and production volume. Contact Printing Services for current estimates. During peak periods, turnaround times may be extended.

How will I receive my completed order?

Completed orders are placed on the pickup shelves and organized alphabetically by last name. District and Cuyamaca College deliveries may be distributed through District Warehouse staff.

Exams & Academic Security

Can my student worker or teaching assistant pick up my materials?

A teaching assistant may pick up handouts when proper authorization is provided. Faculty are encouraged to pick up their own exams.

Are there special procedures for exams and quizzes?

Yes. For academic security, tests, exams, and quizzes must be requested through classified staff.

Copyright & Branding

Can Printing Services reproduce copyrighted materials?
