Disease Control

Communicable Diseases

Student Health Services is responsible for the monitoring and reporting of communicable diseases on our campus. A communicable disease is an infectious disease transmissible (as from person to person) by direct contact with an affected individual or the individual's discharges.

Student Health Services works with the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, Grossmont College Administrators and San Diego Public Health department to ensure that any potential exposures or outbreaks are minimized. It is the responsibility of all staff and faculty to report any case of a communicable disease on campus to Student Health Services as soon as possible.
