| The principle goal of the
Assessment Office is to determine the skill levels of students
in English, English as a Second Language (ESL), and Mathematics.
An assessment process is used to determine appropriate skill
levels and place students in classes where they can succeed.
All students who plan to register for an English, English as a
Second Language, or Mathematics class at Grossmont College must
take the applicable tests to provide proof of skill level.
You may be exempt from taking the Grossmont College assessment
test if you can provide documentation of any of the following:
-
An English and/or Math assessment at City, Mesa,
Miramar, Palomar, MiraCosta, Southwestern, or Imperial Valley
Colleges. Contact the Assessment Office.
-
English and/or Math AP exam and received a 3, 4,
or 5. Contact the Counseling Center.
-
A college level English and/or Math course, with
a C or better. Contact the Counseling Center.
