What are OERs?

Open Educational Resources (OERs) are materials created under Creative Commons, a public copyright license that gives others permission to share and add to an otherwise copyrighted work for educational use. OERs are fairly new to the educational system, but have been gaining popularity and are being used more commonly on the web.

The high cost of textbooks and materials prevents many students who want to pursue higher education from achieving their goals. Grossmont College is beginning to use OERs to bring these costs down.

We would like to thank College of the Canyons for generously sharing their website materials with us.
