POSC 121: Introduction to U.S. Government and Politics

Fall 2017

Methods of Evaluation:

  • Four blackboard quizzes (20 points each):  80
  • Three tests from the online textbook site (20 points each):  60
  • Three discussion boards (20 points each):  60
  • Three short essays (20 points each): 60
  • Final exam:  100
  • Good karma (academic honesty, turn things in on time, college-level writing and communications):  infinite
  • Total points (I will drop the lowest-score assignment; 360-20=340):  340 points


Your final grade is not curved and will be assigned according to the following table, including pluses and minuses as appropriate:
A = 90%+       (outstanding work)
B = 80-89%    (very good work)
C = 70-79%    (average, satisfactory work)
D = 60-69%    (below average, marginal work)
F = 0-59%       (unsatisfactory work)
