Anesthesia Technician FAQs

  1. What is the length of the Anesthesia Technician Program?

    After completion of the prerequisite courses and acceptance into the program, the AT program is one year.
  2. What are the Prerequisite courses?

    BOT 161 (Medical Terminology) and Biology 140 or Biology 144 (or equivalent)
  3. Can prerequisites be completed at a school other than Grossmont College?

    Yes. Prerequisites may be taken at any accredited approved college. See the Equivalency link for approved, equivalent prerequisite courses.
  4. When may I apply for admission to the Anesthesia Technician Program?

    Applications will be accepted beginning June 8, 2010. However, official transcripts showing successful completion of the prerequisites may be submitted via mail or in person to the CTE Office now.
  5. Is the Anesthesia Technician Program a day or evening program?

    The Anesthesia Technician program is a Friday evening and Saturday morning program.
  6. Is there a waiting list?

    This is the first year the program has an application process. Once the class is filled a waitlist will be developed.
