Clubs and Organizations

Some of the most rewarding and memorable experiences you will ever have as a college student may come from your time spent participating in extracurricular club activities, academic organizations, or community programs. Clubs and student groups such as the Action Club, Griffin Poets, and Phi Theta Kappa are fun ways to extend the learning experience beyond the classroom, to explore leadership opportunities, to establish important professional connections, and to make lasting friends.

Students who join campus activities groups on average also demonstrate better grade point averages and are more likely to complete their undergraduate degrees at a four-year institution. Additionally, club participation looks great on a scholarship application, a curriculum vita, and even a job resume. Student groups impart lifelong lessons by fostering creativity, collegiality, and community involvement—perfect for Community Service Learning credit.

Interested? See "Clubs and Organizations" for a directory of "Current Student Organizations and Clubs" or learn how to register your own club or organization to make the most out of your learning experience at Grossmont College.
