For more than
forty years Grossmont College has been committed to
providing its students and the community with
educational opportunities designed to meet the needs of
the local and global citizen. Grossmont College has been
and will remain distinctive for its rigorous curriculum,
grounded in a broad general education program and
enriched by the availability of challenging academic
majors and certificates, career and professional
programs, basic skills, interdisciplinary offerings,
cultural enrichment, and innovative instructional and
student support services strategies. The college’s
ability to provide this multifaceted educational
experience is based on its outstanding and diverse
faculty and staff, their commitment to one another, and
the college’s continuing investment in their
professional development. We endeavor to advance our
reputation as a premier community college through
collaborative planning and commitment to student
success. This strategic plan reflects the insights and
contributions of a cross-section of the Grossmont
College community who met in a variety of forums this
past year. Their work culminated with a final review and
adoption of the Strategic Plan 2004-2010 during the
Annual College Leadership Planning retreat held March
12, 2004. I thank all participants for their efforts and
commend their dedication.
