| The purpose of the professional development program
at Grossmont College is to extend faculty knowledge and skills. Above
all, Grossmont is a teaching institution; therefore, promoting
discipline expertise of faculty, improving presentation skills and
student assessment, evaluating and revising curriculum, and
increasing faculty involvement with the organizational development
and decision-making processes of the college, make professional
development activities a critical component of the institution's
integrity and success.
Whether by individual initiative, as in the design of special
projects or conference attendance, or participation in
campus-sponsored workshops, seminars, and field trips, faculty are
encouraged to be innovative, flexible, and involved in their pursuit
of excellence.
The professional development program at Grossmont College has a
primary goal: to make your teaching career a life-long learning
experience.
