Friday August 20
8:00 - 4:30 Room 342 First Aid and CPR for Adults - Vicki Igou will teach the essentials of first aid and adult Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The class will include clearing an obstructed airway and use of an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED.) with hands on practice on an adult manikin. Please wear comfortable clothing and no lipstick. CORRECTION: there will be NO student cost. Please call or e-mail Ron Knight (619.644-7712) to register.

11:00 - 12:30 Room 409 Pilates for Everybody!! --- Kathy Meyer.  This brief workshop will focus on mat work and is suitable for all fitness levels.  Pilates is a full body conditioning program that focuses on control of body alignment, correct breathing through concentration, and efficient exercise with reduced repetition.  Perfect for time-conscious professors!  Wear comfortable work-out attire and bring water and an open mind.

1:00 - 3:00 pm Room 370 Exploring Vocational Program Student Learning Outcomes as Grossmont Charts its Own Course -- Instructor Scott Henriksen, from TVI Community College in Albuquerque, NM, will facilitate a discussion on how student learning outcomes are part of his college's program assessment and evaluation process.  This is one in a series of such '04-'05 activities designed to enhance awareness and understanding of other colleges' practices in this area.
