What you need for Physics 240, Fall 2008

This page describes what you need if you took Physics 140 at Grossmont College in Fall 2007 or Spring 2008

We will cover chapters 18 through 31 or 32.  If you took Physics 140 at Grossmont College in Fall 2007, you have most of what you need.

Required:

WileyPlus Code: your WileyPlus code is still good, although you will need a new url for the class.

Chapters 18  ̶  20 of Halliday, Resnick, and Walker: you already have these chapters, at the end of Part 2.

Chapters 21  ̶  32 of Halliday, Resnick, and Walker: you should purchase Part 3.  I strongly recommend against trying to study from the online text only.  However, if that is what you wish to do, all the chapters should be accessible with the code you purchased last semester.

Lab notebook: we have switched to a new format of lab notebook, but if you have an old one from Physics 140, you can use that.

Lab manual: there is no lab manual.

Optional Texts:

Student solution manual: I recommend you use the online version available with your WileyPlus code.

Supplies:

You need a ruler and protractor and a non-programmable scientific calculator.  Programmable calculators are not permitted for the tests, but they are OK for the quizzes.
