What you need for Physics 240, Fall 2008

This page describes what you need if you DID NOT take  Physics 140 at Grossmont College in Fall 2007 or Spring 2008

We will cover chapters 18 through 31 or 32.  All materials are available at the bookstore.  Some items may be purchased directly from the publisher.

Required:

Chapters 18  ̶  20 of Halliday, Resnick, and Walker: these are at the end of  Part 2.

Chapters 21  ̶  32 of Halliday, Resnick, and Walker: these are in Part 3.  I strongly recommend against trying to study from the online text only.  However, if that is what you wish to do, all the chapters should be accessible with the WileyPlus code. 

It is possible to buy one volume covering chapters 1  ̶  44.

Lab notebook: available at the bookstore.  If you have one from another class, you can show it to me to see if it is OK..

Lab manual: there is no lab manual.

Optional Texts:

Study Guide to accompany Fundamentals of Physics: a single volume covers all 44 chapters.

Student solution manual: I recommend you use the online version available with your WileyPlus code.

Supplies:

You need a ruler and protractor and a non-programmable scientific calculator.  Programmable calculators are not permitted for the tests but are OK for the quizzes.
