What you need for Physics 140, Spring 2008

This page describes what you need for Physics 140 at Grossmont College in Spring 2008.  If you began this class in Fall 2007, you should have most of what you need.  If you began this class prior to Fall 2007, you will need to buy most of these items.  All materials are available at the bookstore.  Some items may be purchased directly from the publisher.

Required:

WileyPlus Code

Parts 1 and 2 of Halliday, Resnick, and Walker (That is also called volume 1)

The bookstore sells a package consisting of the WileyPlus code plus Parts 1 and 2.   I strongly recommend against trying to study from the online text only.  However, if that is what you wish to do, all the chapters should be accessible with the WileyPlus code.  You can get that separately at the bookstore or from the publisher, if that is what you wish to do.

It is possible to buy one volume covering chapters 1  ̶  44.

Lab notebook: available at the bookstore.  If you have one from an earlier semester of Physics 140, it should be OK.  If you have one from another class, you can show it to me to see if it is OK..

Optional Texts:

Study Guide to accompany Fundamentals of Physics: a single volume covers all 44 chapters.

Student solution manual: I recommend you use the online version available with your WileyPlus code.

Supplies:

You need a metric ruler, a protractor,  and a non-programmable scientific calculator.  Programmable calculators are not permitted for the tests.
