Anesthesia Technician Program

THERE WILL BE A PRE-REQUISITE FOR THE ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN PROGRAM THAT WILL BE ENFORCED BEGINNING FALL 2009. PLEASE SEE BELOW.

 

Nurse Assisting Patient
  • One-year program: Fall, Spring, Summer
  • All classes held on Friday evenings and Saturdays
  • Enrollment is once a year for classes starting each August
  • Classes taught on site at Grossmont College & local clinical sites
  • Tuition—free (college credit available and highly recommended)

All students who successfully complete the program with a grade of “C” or better in every class will receive a Certificate of Completion in Anesthesia Tech from ROP. All of the Anesthesia Tech classes are available for college credit and it is highly recommended that students enroll for college credit. Students will receive an add code the first week of class if they plan to enroll for college credit and pay the tuition.

TOTAL UNITS = 17 UNITS

There are two ways to satisfy the pre-requisite for this program. Either one of these may qualify.

1. Complete a college level course in Anatomy and Physiology or Human Anatomy from an accredited college with a “C” or better. You must provide an official transcript showing completion of pre-requisite transcript to qualify for enrollment. Pre-requisite coursework must have included a lab. (Note - Must successfully complete a Biology course before taking Human Anatomy or Anatomy and Physiology.

2. Apply for Equivalency based on experience in the health professions.

This is a one year program. The next enrollment period will be in July 2008.
Please contact the ROP office in May 2008 to get the enrollment time for Fall 2008.

For this program documentation is required. You must attend a mandatory meeting on August 13, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on the Grossmont College Campus Room 345B.

 You will need to bring the following documentation to the meeting:

  • Proof of High School Diploma, GED, or Higher Education. If this is from a foreign country you must provide a certified translated diploma or transcript. Students will not be accepted into the program without showing proper proof.
  • Photo I.D. (All students must be 18 years and older)

Before proceeding to registration, read all of the above information. There may be a prerequisite or required documentation i.e. proof of High School diploma, age verification, etc...
