What Is An Internship Class?
POSC 195,197 are single- to
multiple-unit courses, allowing you to receive credit while
providing community service, learning hands-on about politics, and
getting valuable work experience.
What do you do?
During the semester, you work
in a political setting where you accomplish your own personal,
educational, and work-related goals. In previous semesters,
Grossmont students have worked for Senator Boxer and for various
political campaigns. You might also work in a legal services office
or for a non-profit service organization.
When Is It?
Your are required to work a
minimum of 60 hours throughout the semester. 60 hours is a minimum,
and you would earn one unit credit. If you are receiving more
credit, you need to work more hours.
Does it cost anything extra?
Fees are the same as for other
courses at Grossmont.
How do I sign up?
If you are interested, you
need to contact Dr. Mary McKenzie in political science. She is in
