Suda House

Professor Suda House received her Bachelor of Fine arts degree from the University of Southern California in 1973 and her Master of Arts from California State University, Fullerton in 1976. Presently, she collaborates with Vivian Haga, Director of Education for the MoPA/Grossmont College Summer Photographic Workshops, an ongoing artist-in-residence program celebrating its 14th season.

Her photographs are within such private and public collections as the Polaroid Corporation, San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Creative Center of Photography, Minneapolis Institute of the Arts and the Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego.

Suda was a 1980 recipient of a national Endowment of the Arts Emerging Fellowship and she has written extensively about photography, including her 1981 Amphoto imprint, “Artistic Photographic Processes.”

During the past twenty-five years, her photographs have been widely exhibited. In 1992, her work was included in a retrospective of artists and photographers working in Los Angeles during the 1960’s to 1980s entitled Proof, which was organized by the Laguna Art Museum for travel nationally, and internationally she participated in the 1998 Foto Biennale in Eschede, Netherlands.

Paul Turounet

Paul Turounet (born 1962 in Alameda, California) received his MFA in Photography from Yale University School of Art in 1995.  He was awarded a prestigous Fulbright Fellowship in 1997 to photograph along the border in Mexico and has received grants from the Trans-Border Institute.  Recent exhibitions include Estamos Buscando A - We're Looking For, Cancer Alley – Louisiana and New York and Más allá – the Retablos of Migrants along the U.S. – Mexico Border, a site-specific installation at various locations along the border in Tijuana.  Currently, he is an Instructor of Photography at Grossmont College in El Cajon, California.  Since 2003, he has taught in the University of San Diego’s Guadalajara Summer Program in Guadalajara, Mexico.
