Nursing Department -> Admission Procedures -> Applications

Applications

In order to apply for the nursing program, students must first complete science prerequisites of Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology with a combined GPA of 2.5 or higher in the 3 science courses, and a total of 13 units. At least one of the three science prerequisites must be completed within 5 years of applying. Within the 5 years of the application date, no more than 1 of the science prerequisites may be repeated.  Please contact the Nursing Program Office for specific recency or GPA questions or if you are considering repeating a science prerequisite.

There is a separate application for the Nursing Program from Grossmont College. Below are links to the available applications for both the LVN-RN Program and the RN Program. Both applications are available in a PDF downloadable format and as a Word document that can be filled out and emailed directly to the Nursing Program. There are 2 pages to each application, please be sure to complete both pages. The Advance Placement application is only available via download and must be submitted by postal mail or in person with the appropriate requirements. (See Transfer Students for additional application requirements).

Official transcripts of science prerequisites must be sent to the School of Nursing for your application to be complete. Official transcripts of all previous college coursework must be sent to Admissions and Records immediately upon accepting an invitation into the Nursing Program.

Program applications are accepted year round on a first come, first serve basis. A letter of response will be mailed to you upon receipt of your completed application and official transcripts being received in the Nursing Program Office.

When you are selected for a class, and have successfully passed the TEAS pre-entrance exam, the Nursing Program will notify you at the most recent postal address and email address you have submitted. Any changes in your contact information must be submitted in writing at grossmont.nursing@gcccd.edu. Verbal changes are not accepted.

The Nursing Program Office is located at 8800 Grossmont College Drive, El Cajon, CA 92020 in 340 abcd in the Health Science building. The hours of operation are 8:30am until 4:00pm Monday – Friday.
