This site is      designed to help you target your specific needs as a speaker by allowing you to access any or all of the contents on their site.  The site is very practical, easy-to-use and will lead you through developing a topic, research, and delivery. This well know public speaking organization offers 10 tips for successful public speaking

Allyn & Bacon's Public Speaking Website

This website contains five modules,assess, analyze, research, organize, deliver.  You can use these to learn about the process of public speaking and to help you prepare your speeches.  The site is prepared by Allyn & Bacon book publishers and offers great information.  This does go along with a textbook they would like you to purchase, however even without the text, their information is very useful.

American Rhetoric

Michael E. Eidenmuller (Univ. of Texas, Tyler) provides a gateway to a number of useful resources, including the full transcribed text and, in many cases, streaming audio of numerous famous and important speeches.  Some speeches from the era before audio-recoding technology are available in versions read by actors and other personalities.  The site also provides links to professional resources for scholars of rhetoric.
