MS Internet Explorer menus are one important means
of navigation.

Some of the more important menu items are:

File Menu, New Window

File Menu
-
New Window - Open a new Internet Explorer window using your designated
home page.
Open (PC) - Open an Internet site using the Uniform Resource
Locator (URL) or open a page located on your hard drive or local network
in the current window.
Open File (Mac) - Open a page located on your hard drive or
local network in the current window.
Open Location (Mac) - Open an Internet site using the Uniform
Resource Locator (URL) in the current window.
Close (Mac) - Close the active window.
Close All (Mac) - Cloase all open windows.
Save (PC) - Saves changes.
Save As (File) - Saves the document you are viewing to your
hard drive (or to a disk.)
Get Info (Mac)
Import (Mac)
Export (Mac)
New Message (PC) - Opens a blank email message. (Your email
must be configured in IE first.)
Send To (PC) - Mail current document using methods available
onyour computer (email, fax, etc.)
Download File (Mac) - Initiate a download by entering URL of
file to transfer to your Mac.
Download Manager (Mac) - View Download manager window.
Page Setup - Displays the Page Setup dialog box in preparation
for printing.
Print - Displays the Print dialog box allowing you to print
the document you are viewing.
Create Shortcut (PC) - Create a shortcut to this document.
Properties (PC) - Displays the properties of this document.
Close (PC) - Closes the active window.
Quit (Mac) - Quit the Internet Explorer program completely
Edit Menu

Undo (Mac) - Undo the last action taken.
Cut - Cut selected text to the clipboard.
Copy - Copy selected text to the clipboard.
Paste - Paste the contents of the clipboard. (You can only paste
into fields that accept text or graphics. You can NOT paste into the Web
document itself.)
Clear (Macintosh only) - Deletes selected text from a text field.
Select All - Selects all text in the field where your cursor
is located.
Find...(on this page) - Find a text string within the document
you are viewing.
Find Again (Mac) - Look for the next occurance of a text string
you have already searched. (In Windows, this option is found in the Find
Dialog Box.)
Preferences (Mac) - Customize IE to work best for you.
Current Page - Opens the Front Page Editor with current page,
if installed on your PC.
View Menu

Toolbar (PC) - When checked, the ToolBar is displayed. If not, it
is hidden from view.
Button Bar (Mac) - When checked, the Button (Tool) Bar is displayed.
If not, it is hidden from view.
Address Bar (Mac) - When checked, the Address Bar is displayed.
If not, it is hidden from view.
Status Bar - When checked, the Status Bar at the bottomof the
window is displayed. If not, it is hidden from view.
Favorites Bar (Mac) - When checked, the Favorites Bar is displayed.
If not, it is hidden from view.
Fonts (PC) - Change size of fonts.
Text Size (Mac) - Change size of fonts.
Character Set (Mac) - Change character set..
Stop (Loading) - Stop or interrupt the loading of the current
document. (Same as Stop Button.)
Refresh - Refreshes the document by reloading from local memory.
Load Images (Mac) - Load images for the current document (if
you have auto load turned off for faster surfing.
Java Messages (Mac) - Display Java messages as appropritate.
Source - View the HTML codes for the current document.
Options (PC) - Customize IE to work best for you.
Go Menu

Back - Return to the previous document. (Same as Back Button.)
Forward - Move forward one document. (Only available when you
have gone "Back." Same as Forward Button.)
Start (Home) Page - Return to the designated Home Page.
Search the Web - Opens IE's search page with links to popular
search tools on the Internet.
Best of the Web (PC) - Opens IE's Best of the Web page with
links to popular sites on the Internet.
Read Mail (PC) - Opens selected email program.
Read News (PC) - Opens IE's News reader.
History Items - Each item in this list is a document you have
visited this session. The items are listed with the most current first.
Return to a document by selecting that item from the menu.
Open History (Folder) - Opens IE's History folder with linsk
to all sites visited recently.
Favorites Menu

Add to Favorites - Add the document you are viewing to your Favorites
list.
Organize (Go To) Favorites - Opens the Favorites window. Allows
you to rearrange your collection, delete entries, add category headers,
rename items, etc.
New Folder (Mac) - Add a new folder to your Favorites list.
New Favorite (Mac) - Add a site to your Favorites list.
New Divider (Mac) - Add a dividerto your Favorites list.
Favorites Items - Each of your Favorite Items appears in this
Favorites list. Select any Favorites from the menu to go to that document.
Folders will allow opening of secondary menu with additional items.
Help Menu (PC)

Help Topics - IE Help system
Web Tutorial - Opens Microsofts Web tutorial
Microsoft on the Web - Takes you to MS Web site
Online Support - Opens Microsofts Web tutorial
About Internet Explorer - A page with information about Internet
Explorer.
Window Menu (Mac)
-
Windows - Displays menu of titles of all open windows and allows
navigation between them.
