Database Access
Grossmont College's students, faculty and staff may access most of
our subscription databases from off campus.
You will see a login screen when you click on one of the links
below. Here's some help
for logging in if you're having problems.

When you click on one of the links above you will see
the following screen:
Students
Username: firstnamelastname
Password: PIN used to register
How do I know what my user name is?
All
students are automatically assigned a user name when they register for
classes. Most likely, your user name is your first and last name, as you
entered it on your registration form, with no
period or spaces between the first and last name.
For
example, Pat Morrison would type: patmorrison in the User Name
field.
Occasionally, variations on the "firstnamelastname" formula are used.
Students may check their login name by going to the
WebConnect page.
Click on "Update Personal Profile"
once you've logged in to WebConnect.
Look for the "Network Log On Account" at the bottom of the
Personal Profile page that appears.

you still need help with your username, call

How do I know what my password is?
Your password will be the same PIN that you used to register for
classes. If you do not know your PIN, call Admissions at (619)
644-7186.
What if I am still
having trouble?
Call the Library Reference Desk at 619-644-7361 or
Ask-a-Librarian
via e-mail. There may be a response delay if you choose e-mail.
Faculty

Other Problems
Special directions for those who want to access ProQuest off
campus through Internet Explorer 6:
- Open Internet Explorer
- Select Tools from the menu at the top of the screen
- Select Internet Options
- Select the Privacy tab
- Click the Edit button on the lower portion of the screen in the
section "Web Sites"
- A "Per Site Privacy Actions" window will
appear. On the line for "Address of
Web site" enter umi.com
- Select the "Allow" button. This should place umi.com under the
section "Managed Web Sites"
- Click "OK" until you are back to your
main browser window
- Close the browser, open a new browser, then try accessing the off
campus link
