Online Tutorial
Please read
this!
Grossmont College Library
offers an online tutorial called LUCI which
stands for "Library User Computer
Instruction." The tutorial takes
approximately 1 hour. If you are
taking this as an assignment for a class,
you must complete the tutorial in one
sitting and submit the quiz at the end to
get credit. To use it, you must have the following on
the computer you will be using:
- Broadband
connection - Must be high speed, like cable
or DSL. A dial-up modem will not work.
You can
test your bandwidth if you are not
sure.
- Headphones or speakers
- if you
can play music on your computer, you will
be able to play the sound in this
tutorial.
- Flash Player
- You can
check for flash player if you are
not sure.
- Screen Resolution
- LUCI looks best at 1024 x 768 screen
resolution, however it is viewable at
800 x 600. You can
change your
screen resolution if needed.
If your computer does
not meet these requirements, you can
come into the Grossmont College Library
during these
hours to do the
tutorial. Bring your own
headphones, or you can check out a set of
headphones at the Circulation Desk on the
first floor, or the Media Desk on the second
floor of the Library.
If your computer meets
the above requirements, and you're still
having trouble running the tutorial, please
contact us.
If
your instructor has assigned the
text-based tutorial, or your computer doesn't meet the requirements
for LUCI, and you absolutely cannot come
into the Library to do the assignment, there is
a
text-based tutorial that will run on just
about any computer.
