Streaming Videos

The library subscribes to several streaming video databases containing educational videos that can be streamed within Blackboard courses or in smart classrooms using presentation equipment. Faculty and students can also view videos from computers on and off campus.

Find Grossmont Library's DVDs and VHS tapes by subject.  It's as easy as clicking on a subject from the list found on our Films by Subject page.

Film Booking Service

Faculty can book films in advance by contacting Karen McCoy (phone:
619-644-7491, email: karen.mccoy@gcccd.edu). Instructors can also provide a list of films and what dates the films will be needed. The request can be made at the beginning of each semester, or a few days before the film(s) are needed.

County Consortium Media Collection

Students and faculty have access to a collection of films that we share with other local community colleges.  Search the catalog for films, and then request items by sending an email to Karen McCoy at karen.mccoy@gcccd.edu. Students can view films in the library. Faculty may check the films out.

Media Reserves

Media Reserves includes media materials placed on reserve by instructors to support course work. Instructors can print out a Media Reserve Form and submit it with the material at the Media Desk.

Group Study Rooms

The Library has eight Group Study Rooms on the 2nd Floor available for check-out from the Media Desk.  Seven of these are for groups of two or more; one is available for individual use.  Available equipment include computers and laptops with Microsoft Office, Internet, and webcams, as well as televisions with DVD players. Rooms may be reserved by calling 644-7015 or by coming to the Media Desk.

The Media Desk is open the same hours as the Library and is located on the 2nd Floor of the Library.
