Find Grossmont Library's DVDs and VHS tapes by subject.  It's as easy as clicking on a subject from the list found on our Films by Subject page.

Films by Subject Flyers provide you with a sampling of the films available in various subject areas.

Film Booking Service

Faculty can book films in advance by contacting Karen McCoy (phone:
619-644-7491, email: karen.mccoy@gcccd.edu)  or Melissa Solis (phone: 619-644-7063, email: melissa_solis@gcccd.edu). Instructors can also provide a list of films and what dates the films will be needed. The request can be made at the beginning of each semester, or a few days before the film(s) are needed.

County Consortium Media Collection

Students and faculty have access to a collection of films that we share with other local community colleges.  Search the catalog for films, and then request items by sending an email to Marty Armstrong at marty.armstrong@gcccd.edu. Students can view films in the library. Faculty may check the films out.

New Media Blog

Learn about some of the new films in the Grossmont Library collection by reading the New Media Blog.

Course Number Search

Find films used by faculty for a particular course by typing a course number into the Quick Search box at the top of this page.

• For example, to find films used by faculty teaching History 108, type
  "hist 108” into the Quick Search box.
• To find films used by faculty in a particular department, type in the four letter department code.  For example, type in "hist" to find films used by faculty in the History Department.

Information for faculty about media resources, including Professional Development Films, our Film Booking Service, Streaming Video Resources, Films By Subjects Flyers, and Media FAQs, is located on the Faculty Media Resources Web page.

Media Reserves

Media Reserves includes media materials placed on reserve by instructors to support course work. Instructors can print out a Media Reserve Form and submit it with the material at the Media Desk.

Find Grossmont Library's music CDs by music genre.  It's as easy as clicking on a genre from the list found on our Music By Genre page.

Location and Hours

The Media Desk is open the same hours as the Library and is located on the 2nd Floor of the Library.
