An alphabetical list, with descriptions, of all Grossmont College Library databases.  Most offer off-site access.

Mobile Ebsco - Access Ebsco databases from your handheld device. Academic Search Premier, Business Source Premier, CINAHL, ERIC, Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, Health Source, MEDLINE, and Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection are included.

Academic Search Premier
An academic, multi-disciplinary databases with the full text of about 4,500 publications, including 3,500 peer-reviewed. 

ARTstor
Artstor is a searchable database of digital images encompassing architecture, painting, photography, prints, drawings, sculpture, decorative arts and design, as well as archeological and anthropological objects.

Business Source Premier
Provides full text for more than 7,000 scholarly business journals and other sources.

CINAHL Plus with Full Text
A comprehensive source of full text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 560 journals indexed in CINAHL. Of those, nearly 400 have cover-to-cover indexing in CINAHL. There are more than 600,000 full-text articles dating back to 1937.

CollegeSource Online
27,888 COLLEGE CATALOGS in full cover-to-cover, original page format with 2-year, 4-year, graduate, professional and international schools. (This is available on campus only, courtesy of the Grossmont College Career Center).

CountryWatch
Offers in-depth and up-to-date information about 191 countries in the world, including a political and economic overview, and their corporate and environmental issues and trends.  

CQ Press - this vendor has several databases you can search at once using this link.

CQ Researcher
Reporting on the most current and controversial issues of the day. Each issue features a look ahead; a pro-con section that presents opposing viewpoints; a chronology; and annotated bibliographies to point the way to additional research. Covers 1991 to present.

CQ Global Researcher
Offers focused, in-depth, single-topic reports on vital and headline-making world issues and crises.

Credo Reference (Xreferplus) - Credo is a vast, online reference library, providing access to the full text of hundreds of highly regarded and popular titles. Credo includes images, sound files, animations, videos and much more. Find speedy, simple answers and authoritative, in-depth articles.

eBooks on EBSCOhost
Offers access to about 22,000 electronic books (e-books).

EBSCO - this vendor provides many of our databases.  Using this link will allow you to search all of these databases at once.

EBSCO Animals
Provides in-depth information on a variety of topics relating to animals.  Describes the nature and habitat of familiar animals.

ERIC
ERIC, the Educational Resource Information Center, contains more than 2,200 digests along with references for additional information and citations and abstracts from over 980 educational and education-related journals.

Funk & Wagnall's New World Encyclopedia
Offers over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.

Gale - This vendor provides us with several databases which you can search at once using this link.

Gale Academic One File
Offers peer-reviewed, highly academic, scholarly full-text journal articles from the world's leading journals.  Includes millions of articles.

Gale General One File
A one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events, economics, education, environmental issues, health care, law, literature and art, politics, science, social science, sports  and many general interest topics. Millions of full-text articles, many with images.

Gale U.S. History in Context
Provides a comprehensive collection of over 4,000 historical (primary) documents, articles from more than 30 reference titles, and over 110 full-text journal covering themes, events, individuals and periods in U.S. history from pre-Colonial times to the present. Also includes citations from over 180 additional history journals from the Institute for Scientific Information's Arts and Humanities Citation Index, as well as the entire "American Journey Online" series.

Gale Virtual Reference Library
A collection of specialized reference sources.  Examples include: Americans at War, Arts and Humanities Through the Eras, Encyclopedia of Genocide and Crimes Against Humanity, Encyclopedia of Politics, and New Dictionary of the History of Ideas.

Gale World History in Context
Provides a comprehensive collection of resources and integrates secondary sources, primary sources and full-text articles from academic journals and periodicals from around the world.  This database features scholarly analysis and "day-in-history" reviews.

Health Source - Consumer Edition
Provides information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health.

Health Source - Nursing Academic Edition
Offers more than 550 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines.  Features abstracts and indexing for nearly 850 journals.

INTELECOM
INTELECOM is a database of over 2800 academic video clips, each averaging 3 to 5 minutes in length.  Topics include Allied Health, Oceanography, History, Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology, Health, and Environmental Studies.

Library, Information Science & Technology Abstract (LISTA)
Indexes more than 600 periodicals, plus books, research reports and proceedings. Subject coverage includes librarianship, classification, cataloging, bibliometrics, online information retrieval, information management and more. Coverage in the database extends back as far as the mid-1960s.

Literature Resource Center
To find literary information, such as criticism or authors' biographies.

MasterFILE Premier
Covers multidisciplinary subjects of general interest to the public.  Full text for more than 2,050 general reference publications.

MEDLINE
Offers authoritative medical information on medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, the health care system, pre-clinical sciences, and more.  Created by the National Library of Medicine, it allows users to search abstracts from over 4,600 biomedical journals.

National Newspaper Core
Searches the five major United States newspapers: Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Washington Post.

Newspaper Source
Full text for 25 U.S. and international newspapers.  Also full text television and radio news transcripts., and selected full text for more than 200 regional U.S. newspapers.

Nursing Education in Video
An online collection of videos created specifically for the education and training of nurses, nursing assistants, and other healthcare workers. All of the videos in the collection have been created with the guidance of the Medcom-Trainex advisory board, and are regularly reviewed for accuracy, currency, and compliance with US Federal regulations from agencies such as OSHA and CMS.

Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center
Good for researching current debate-type topics, or to help in picking a topic.

Primary Search
For elementary school research, offering the full text of more than 60 popular magazines.

Professional Development Collection
A collection of more than 750 full text education journals.

Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection
Offers coverage of nearly 550 full text journals, including more than 500 peer-reviewed titles.  Covers topics such as emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry & psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods.  Nearly every full text title included in this database is indexed in PsycINFO.

Regional Business News
Comprehensive full text coverage for regional business publications.  Incorporates coverage of 75 business journals, newspapers, and newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the U.S.

Religion & Philosophy Collection
Covers world religions, major denominations, biblical studies, religious history, epistemology, political philosophy, philosophy of language and more.  Offers more than 300 full text journals, including more than 250 peer-reviewed titles.
