PERSONAL
I have lived in San Diego most of my life and have been
teaching at Grossmont College since 1985. My passions (other than
teaching!) include skiing the steep and deep winter snow at
Alta and Snowbird, Utah, working in my garden, reading, and running. I began running
marathons in the Fall of 2000, and have completed a 14 so far, including
the Boston Marathon six times. For an interesting story that

about something that happened to me during the 2007 Boston

I also have recently completed a degree in History
(my friends call me a "Civil War geek",) and am learning to speak German
(so, of course, I'll need to go run a marathon in Germany!)
