Welcome
prospective HIST 124 students!

HIST 124 Syllabus is now posted. Take a look
at what is in store this term.

Also, please take some time to read the
Course Info posted on this
website. Remember... no onsite, pre-semester orientation will be
held.

Students will be required to log-in to class the first day,
Monday, August 24, 2009. The link to Blackboard (the online course
system we'll be using - Bb for short) is posted above. Students
can read how to log-in on the Course Info.
The
first day of class...
The first day of class
is Monday, August 24. Please make sure to do the following
to have a smooth launch:

Buy the text
(see syllabus)
-
Please try to
log into Blackboard (or Bb for short) as soon as you can on M
8/24 so we can work out log-in
issues, I can let crashers in, and we can get the course rolling.
-
PLEASE NOTE:
If you
register for the course less than one week prior to the
start date, you must contact me to be entered into the Bb
system.
You will not be able to log-in to Bb until
after I have issued you an add code, you successfully register through
Admissions and email
me that you successfully added, and then I manually enroll you into Bb, all
of which takes some time (1-2 days with the new semester rush).
Again, If
you want to add the class after the start date, you need to
email me for an add code.

After you have
logged-in to Bb , please read the welcome announcement, then go to the Orientation folder and complete the
following:
-
take the
HIST 124 tour
-
introduce
yourself in the “Intro” section
-
make sure
the email address listed on your User Profile is correct/updated
-
read the
information/view the slide show on Plagiarism
-
complete
the Progress Check
-
“sign” and
return the HIST 124 class contract
