Academic integrity
Oh, by the way...
I don’t mean to insult you personally...
... but if you copy an assignment’s writing from the Internet, please do not come to me later and ask me to write you a recommendation! (Yes, this actually happened in a previous semester.)
Academic integrity, cheating, etc.
Although this is NOT an easy course, it is not a bust-your-gut difficult one, either. There is no need to cheat to get a good grade! That said, please note the following policies on academic integrity.
Plagiarism is using ideas, writings, or materials of someone else as your own without acknowledgment or permission. Plagiarism or any form of cheating can result in a variety of penalties, ranging from an adjusted (lower or failing) grade on the particular exam, paper, project, or assignment to a failing grade in the course. The instructor may also suspend the student instantly for the week when the infraction occurs, as well as the following week. For further clarification and information on these issues, please consult with your instructor or contact the office of the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
