Accommodations for students with disabilities

Students with disabilities who may need accommodations in this class are encouraged to notify the instructor and contact Disabled Student Programs & Services (DSPS) early in the semester -- preferably before the class begins -- so that reasonable accommodations may be implemented as soon as possible. Students may contact DSPS in person in room 110 at Grossmont College or by phone at the numbers to the left.

In my face-to-face classes, I have frequently had deaf students, and occasionally had visually impaired students. Since most of the material I give in lectures is presented here online in a visual way, deaf students should have no unusual difficulties in this class (if they are comfortable enough in English to read and write easily). The videos are either close-captioned or transcripts will be provided. For the visually impaired, all of my web pages have been prepared to make using a screen reader as easy as possible. In particular, whenever graphics are used, a description of the graphic is in the ALT tag and/or a screen-reader-friendly equivalent has been openly provided in a caption. If there is no ALT tag, please look for the caption. If there is no caption, please accept my apologies and let me know right away so I can fix it.
