International Student Orientation
Grossmont College requires its new
students to attend an International Orientation Program.
The orientation is a two-day program, and includes an English
assessment, a campus introduction, and information about
registration and immigration regulations.
New immigration regulations allow a
student with an F-1 visa to use their I-20 to enter the U.S. up
to 30 days prior to the report date listed in Section 5
on their I-20. You should plan to be in the U.S. at
least a day before the orientation. If you are unable
to attend the orientation due to visa issues or airline ticket
availability, you must contact International Admissions
immediately. Contact International Admissions Specialists
Carol Compton at (619) 644-7177 or Mika Miller at (619) 644-7182
or at mika.miller@gcccd.net.
Remember, classes at Grossmont
College fill up quickly. Your attendance at the earliest
possible orientation will increase your ability to register in
the classes of your choice. Students who arrive just
before classes begin will be delayed in their registration and,
consequently, may find many of their first-choice classes full.
