Officers for the International Club of Grossmont College
The officer positions of our club include the following: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Webmaster, ICC Representative, Marketing Manager, Event Coordinators, and Advisors. Below you will find information on
each position.
President:
The President oversees all club Officers. It is also a
responsibility of the President to lead Officer meetings, to account
for club happenings, to confer with the Club Advisors, and to make
sure club business runs smoothly .
Vice President:
The Vice President holds a supporting role to the President. The Vice President is responsible for also making sure
club business runs smoothly. This may include, but is not limited to, checking on status of club events,
presiding over club meetings in the President’s absence, and making sure all other Officers are on task.
Secretary:
The Secretary is responsible for the minutes of the Officer meetings
and reports the events of the previous meeting. An added responsibility of the Secretary
is to monitor the International Club e-mail account, direct
correspondence to the appropriate officer or answer questions directly,
and track member updates and event sign-ups. The Secretary is relied on
to report information to other International Club members.
Treasurer:
Our Treasurer is responsible for the finances of the club. It is the responsibility of the Treasurer to collect all money for events, to
monitor the International Club account to make sure we are financially sound,
to confer with the Club Advisor about financial decisions, and to make deposits into the International Club account when
funds are generated through events such as fund raisers.
Webmaster:
The Webmaster makes sure the International Club Website contains pertinent and the most up-to-date information for our members. New features, information, or other updates on the website are developed by our webmaster. Remember to ask the Webmaster if you have any questions about the International Club’s Website.
ICC Representative:
The ICC Representative is our link to the Inter-Club Council. The Inter-Club Council is a group of representatives from all the clubs at Grossmont College who meet once every two weeks to discuss events and various information about the college and its clubs. The responsibilities of the ICC Representative are to attend the Inter-Club Council meetings, take notes and then to report back to the club Officers what was discussed. We rely on the ICC Representative to keep us updated about the happenings around campus.
Marketing Managers:
The Marketing Managers are our link to the students at Grossmont College
who provide new and innovative ways to help promote the International
Club. They are responsible for making posters that promote our International Club Events,
as well as the club itself. The best kind of Marketing Managers are
people who are willing to go out there and make our club known to the
students of Grossmont College and the world.
Event Coordinators:
Event Coordinators watch over the events and continuously generate ideas about new activities for the International Club. Some of the other responsibilities of the Event Coordinators are to help out during functions when needed, as well as checking with the Advisor to make sure the proper arrangements are made for the scheduled events.
Advisor:
The Club Advisor works in the background of the club, taking care of all the fine details. As well as attending weekly Officer meetings, the Advisor is a person who makes the proper arrangements with entities such as companies, amusement parks, and museums for the club to be able to hold an event outside of school. The Advisor also helps with making the proper arrangements for holding events within the college campus. We depend on this person very much, but this person also depends on us Officers as well to keep the club moving forward.
