The
HISTORY DEPARTMENT offers an array of both survey and
specialized courses geared toward helping students complete
requirements for a Grossmont A.A. degree, lower division
humanities/social science requirements for university transfer,
or personal intellectual enrichment. Taught by diverse and
enthusiastic instructors, our staple survey courses include
Early and Modern World History,
Early and Modern Western
Civilization, Early and Modern U.S. History, and
Early and
Modern History of the Americas. Also don’t overlook our
specialized courses such as
History of East Asia,
History of
Mexico, our popular Ancient Civilizations, and
History of Women
in both America and World Civilizations. Last year, the History Department is proud to launch two new
specialized courses –
Twentieth-Century World
History (History 103) and
Survey of Medieval History (History
136). This semester we are offering American
History: 1945-Present (History 112) and American Military
History (History 113). Please navigate our website to familiarize yourself
