The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District and

Application
Procedure
The Speech Language Pathology Assistant
Program at Grossmont College accepts a limited number of students
each year as dictated by staffing, laboratory and instrumentation
availability, and the number of clinical sites available for student
assignment during the second year of training.
To apply for admission to the Speech Language
Pathology Assistant Program the following steps must be taken:

Obtain an application from the
program office OR print out the on-line
application to
complete. |

Bring or mail the completed
Speech Language Pathology Assistant Program
application and return it to the
Speech Language Pathology Assistant Office (Room 340B). |

Complete SLPA
100 with a
"C" grade or better. |
 |
Biology 140 or
BIO 144 does not have to be met prior to taking SLPA 100
and/or applying to the program, but it must be completed prior
continuing and taking SLPA 110.
*(Chemistry 115 or one year of high school Chemistry is a
prerequisite for Biology 144.) |

If desired,
meet with the SLPA program
representative for an interview after your materials have been
completed and prerequisites verified. |

Submit record of high school course
work and an official transcript from any college other than
Grossmont verifying other college credits to the Speech Language
Pathology Assistant Office. |

Complete all admission requirements
for Grossmont College and provide an official copy of all transcripts
to the Admissions and Records office. |
 |
Schedule an appointment with a
COUNSELOR or SLPA Program if questions remain regarding
requirements or the admissions process. |
 |
Upon acceptance into the SLPA
Program, submit results of a satisfactory physical and dental exam
and record of current immunizations and current CPR card. |
| NOTE:
Any prior convictions of a misdemeanor or felon may
influence eligibility for State registration as a Speech-Language
Pathology Assistant. Applicants with prior convictions are
urged to meet with the SLPA faculty for confidential planning and
advisement. |
