Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
Occupational Therapy is a skilled treatment that focuses on
helping people of all ages regain, develop, or master
everyday skills in order to live independent, productive and
satisfying lives. Whether the individual is young or old,
they engage in "occupations" such as learning, playing,
working, or managing a home. Occupational Therapy provides
services to those individuals with physical, emotional, or
other challenges who are unable to carry out their daily
living tasks.

Respiratory Therapy
The Respiratory Therapy Program is sequential beginning with
treatment and management of patients with noncritical
conditions progressing to patients with critical and
life-threatening conditions. Grossmont College prepares the
student to practice respiratory care in acute, critical and
home health care settings. The population groups range from
neonatal to the elderly.

Pathology Assistant
Approved by the State SLPAB
The Speech
Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) Program is an exciting
new technical health career program that trains SLPAs to
assist Speech Language Pathologists in the treatment of a
variety of speech language disorders in children
and adults.

Anesthesia Technology
Anesthesia Technicians work in the operating room under the supervision of an RN
anesthesiologist. They maintain supplies and equipment and assist the anesthesiologist with
patient care during surgery. Anesthesia Techs are vital members of the anesthesia care team
and they offer technical expertise on the design, function, and trouble-shooting of anesthesia
equipment and monitors.

Telemetry/ EKG Technicians are allied health professionals who
operate electrocardiograph machines to provide data for diagnosis and treatment of heart ailments. Telemetry
Techs are employed in hospitals, clinics, and private practice offices.

Disabilities Services Management
The Disability
Services Management program at Grossmont College is designed
to prepare the student to provide support to individuals
with disabilities in a variety of home, work, school and
recreation environments. Emphasis is placed on students
applying their skills in increasingly complex systems of
support which facilitate the inclusion of people with
disabilities in the fabric of society.

Health Professions Support
Services
The Health Professions Technicians provide
specialized support services for the Health Profession's
programs of Cardiovascular Technology, Nursing, Occupational
Therapy Assistant, Orthopedic Technology and Respiratory
Therapy and to the Grossmont College community. They prepare
labs, repair equipment, maintain supplies, and the Health
Professions Audio-visual library.
