Tetanus & Diphtheria
|
Tetanus and diphtheria remain a public health threat in San Diego County.
You need to prove that you have had a tetanus shot within the past 10 years.
If you need the vaccination, be aware that giving a tetanus shot too early
(less that 10 years apart) may increase your risk of side/adverse effects.
Please exhaust all efforts to find your vaccination card or proof of your
last tetanus shot before getting another shot.
Cost for tetanus and diphtheria (Td): $18.00
You may not get a Td at this office if you are:
- Prone to seizure disorder. Ask your doctor.
- Allergic to gelatin, eggs, chicken, thimerisol, latex or any
components of the vaccine.
- Pregnant or breast feeding- ask you doctor.
- On anticoagulant medication or have bleeding disorder.
- Acutely ill or have chronic illness that suppresses your immune
system.
- Allergic reaction or neurological reactions to any vaccination.
- Diagnosed with TB, cancer or any other illness that suppresses your
immune system.
- Not sure if you had the first three primary vaccinations of tetanus
and diphtheria. If so, you will need to see your doctor.
