Tetanus & Diphtheria

Tetanus and diphtheria remain a public health threat in San Diego County. You need to prove that you have had a tetanus shot within the past 10 years. If you need the vaccination, be aware that giving a tetanus shot too early (less that 10 years apart) may increase your risk of side/adverse effects. Please exhaust all efforts to find your vaccination card or proof of your last tetanus shot before getting another shot.

Cost for tetanus and diphtheria (Td): $18.00

You may not get a Td at this office if you are:
  1. Prone to seizure disorder. Ask your doctor.
  2. Allergic to gelatin, eggs, chicken, thimerisol, latex or any components of the vaccine.
  3. Pregnant or breast feeding- ask you doctor.
  4. On anticoagulant medication or have bleeding disorder.
  5. Acutely ill or have chronic illness that suppresses your immune system.
  6. Allergic reaction or neurological reactions to any vaccination.
  7. Diagnosed with TB, cancer or any other illness that suppresses your immune system.
  8. Not sure if you had the first three primary vaccinations of tetanus and diphtheria. If so, you will need to see your doctor.
