Grossmont Master Chorale

The Grossmont Master Chorale (GMC) under the direction of
Dr. Randall Tweed, is one of three
vocal ensembles in the music department at Grossmont College. The
chorale performs throughout the Greater San Diego area in a variety
of musical venues in addition to being a frequent performer with the
Grossmont Symphony Orchestra.
Numbering between 50 to 60 singers, the Grossmont Master
Chorale's membership includes music and non-music majors, dedicated
community singers and music teachers. Regular performing venues
include noted concert music series such as The Organ Pavilion at San
Diego's Balboa Park and Point Loma Nazarene University, notable
church concert series include First Presbyterian Church of San Diego,
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and Santa Sophia
Catholic Church.
In addition to performing a variety of classical chorale
literature, the GMC performs a number of 'run-out' concerts
featuring choral literature from Opera, Operetta, Musical Theater,
and Gilbert and Sullivan. There are also opportunities for the
Chorale's membership to perform solo/ensemble literature during
these 'run-outs.'
Membership to the GMC is by audition only. If you are interested
in performing as a member of the chorale, please contact music
director Dr. Randall Tweed for information.
