I want to keep you informed regarding the H1N1 influenza
(previously referred to as swine flu). Fortunately, there has been
no change in our situation: we have no
confirmed cases within the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community
College District.
We are continuing to monitor flu reports and to counsel students
and staff through our Health Services offices at both colleges.
Helpful information remains available from a number of sources,
including the County of San Diego Public Health Department
(www.sdcounty.ca.gov/Portal/News/swineflu.html);
CDC (US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,
www.cdc.gov
) and updates are available via our district
and college websites (www.gcccd.edu
).
Practicing common sense habits continues to be the most effective
action we all can take to prevent the spread of disease. So,
please….
- Stay home when you’re sick
- Practice good cough etiquette (cover your cough
with sleeve or tissue)
- See a doctor if serious illness develops and
- Wash your hands properly and frequently
As new information becomes available, we will keep you posted.
Stay healthy and have a great summer!
