Grossmont College Scholarship Application Process

The Grossmont College Scholarship Program attempts to recognize as many qualified and outstanding students as possible and has established two application periods per academic year. Students may apply in both the fall and spring semester if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Who can apply?
Students currently enrolled at Grossmont College who have completed a minimum number of units may apply for campus based scholarships. The awards are competitive and are based on the applicant’s statement and academic record.

How do I apply?
Applications for campus based scholarships can be printed online or may be obtained from the Financial Aid Office, Room 107. With the submission of this one application you will be considered for:

ALL merit scholarships
ALL restricted Scholarships for which you meet the criteria

Improve your chances of being selected for a scholarship. Attend one of the one hour scholarship workshops the Counseling Center, Room 115.

What are the deadline dates for applying?
Availability of campus-based scholarships is dependent on current funding.

The Deadline for Fall 2008 campus based scholarship has passed. Fall 2008 award letter will be mailed out early June.

How much is a scholarship award?
Awards for campus-based scholarships range from $100-$1,000.

Must I have financial need to apply for a scholarship?
Many scholarships do not require financial need. If the scholarship criteria states financial need as a requirement, the student must submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Receiving a scholarship may have an impact on your financial aid package. Please check with your financial aid advisor for specific details.

How will I get my scholarship money?
Each semester the Grossmont College Scholarship Office and the Grossmont College Foundation sponsors a Scholarship Awards Breakfast. Scholarship checks are disbursed directly to students at this event.
