About Peer Tutoring and English 51/52 in room 70-119
The English Writing Center (EWC) is part of the
English Department. Currently staffed with both English instructors
and English Reading and Writing Skills Peer Tutors, the EWC’s mission is to help
students improve their overall writing skills in terms of proper
grammar usage and development of coherent and well-organized essays.
In addition, our mission is to help students improve the textbook
reading, vocabulary, and study skills. The EWC is open to all students at Grossmont College. Students are
encouraged to bring any reading, vocabulary, and/or writing
assignments to the EWC to receive
assistance from either an instructor or an English Skills Peer
Tutor.
The EWC contributes to student success at Grossmont College by
providing the following:
-

writing

on any writing skills topic
-
Enhancement of student’s writing, punctuation, and grammar skills
through use of English grammar software
