GROSSMONT COLLEGE RECYCLING UPDATE
We would like to
acknowledge the
Grossmont
College faculty,
staff, and
students, as
well as District
staff, for
assisting in
implementing and
improving our
site’s recycling
program,
enabling us to
meet the state
mandate AB 75
required
diversion rate,
which was
increased to 50
percent in
2004. Even
though we had
considerably
less
construction
recycling in
2006 than in
2004 and 2005,
we were still
able to come in
with an achieved
recycling rate
of 55.8
percent. Thanks
to Walter Sachau
for helping
everyone
remember to
recycle!

Saturday in early May, included a silent auction
of students’ photographs, and a drawing to win a
complete darkroom. The Advertising
Photographers of America presented a live
demonstration on location lighting, followed by
a round table discussion of what it is like to
be a professional photographer in today’s
market.
Thanks to Suda House, art professor, instructor
Paul Turounet and lab technician Susan
Richardson for keeping this well-established

Mike Gilchrest,
Barnes and Noble
bookstore
manager, is
praising the
Grossmont
College faculty
for their prompt
submittal of
fall booklists

Students benefit
because the
earlier Mike
gets the lists
assembled, the
earlier he can
go on the
external market
for used books,
which are much
more
affordable.

for helping our

conserve their
precious book
