Enrollment Update
-
-
Enrollment numbers are climbing! As of August 21, we are up 4.96 percent in both headcount and units compared to the same time in Fall, 2006.
Dr. Cooke said, “Opening day was a wonderful and energizing experience for us all, but especially for me as my first opportunity to welcome students!”
Our efforts produced results! The campus has been very busy, students packed into the counseling and financial aid service areas, orientation sessions were full. We’ve had successful Parent Night events and two Adult Re-Entry workshops, in addition to our presence at the Parkway Plaza Mall. Carrie Clay also reports that ROP Online Registration for EKG Anesthesia Technology Program filled in the first 20 minutes.
We’re also finding new ways to serve our students, such as a new ‘hybrid’ online Anatomy and Physiology Class, thanks to developers Sue Caldwell and Allison Shearer with encouragement from Dean Jerry Buckley.
Qualcomm Sponsors Development Of New Distance Ed Program In Geology
We are also offering another new ‘hybrid’ geology class, with development funding and equipment provided by Qualcomm.
TOPConstruction Reports
The summer opportunities for campus improvements passed quickly. We are quite pleased with the expansion/remodel of the EOPS offices, which now allow us to serve, in privacy, and to otherwise accommodate the neediest students who seek our services.
Thanks to Tim Flood and Company, especially Walter Sachau, we have just helped faculty move back into 11 offices that were remodeled over the summer, along with five classrooms.
We’re looking forward to Phase II of the Exercise Science and Wellness Complex Remodel, which began last week. Groundbreaking Ceremony is scheduled on 10/5 @ 11:00 a.m.
