Elsa and her crew visited with students in Debbie Yaddow’s preceptorship class, with the Welcome Back center staff, and with graduates of the first Welcome Back cohort who have been on the job in local health care facilities since their graduation in 2004.

They won first place in all three categories. Terrance Sharkey took first place in the Entertainment category for his music video done in Mcom 120 this past semester. Christopher White won first place and best of class in the Commercial and Public Service Announcement category with his spot on alcohol abuse aimed at college students. Enrollment Update

Faculty and staff across the campus have been contributing to our enrollment promotion efforts. This year, student information tables were up and operating one week earlier than in the past; students on wait lists received calls when seats opened up. KUSI broadcasted from the Grossmont College campus during four “Good Morning San Diego” segments Monday, August 21.

As of Friday, August 11, Fall semester enrollment figures showed that we had almost exactly the same number of students and the same number of units registered as last Fall at this point in the registration process. We hope that we will be able to turn this into a positive comparison as we add sections in response to high student demand in courses with long wait lists.

Our Summer enrollment data at this time continues to report positive information, with an increase of approximately 2.4% in FTES.
