A Time for Thanksgiving
As we approach the time of our national day of thanks, it is timely to reflect on the abundance of talent and technical resources our faculty and staff bring to our campus, and the energy our student leaders bring to their responsibilities. I am grateful to our students for choosing Grossmont College to begin or restart their college journeys, and to my administrative colleagues for their insights and wisdom as we grapple with the everyday challenges our freedoms provide.

ASGC Sponsors Art & Music Festival
Thanks to the ASGC for organizing the Grossmont Campus Appreciation Celebration and the Art and Music Festival Thursday evening.

The event celebrated the "Best of San Diego" honor and featured our Afro-Cuban Ensemble, Dance Department, Vocal Jazz and Big Band entertainment, with Radio 91X on site. For a donation of cash or non-perishable food items, everyone enjoyed a spaghetti dinner. The ASGC will donate the food items to the Silent Witness Project and to survivors of domestic violence.

GC Foundation Gala 'Best Ever'

Thanks to Howard Kummerman and this year's gala committee, the Grossmont College Foundation's Walk of Fame Gala last month at the Barona Valley Ranch Resort and Casino was the best ever! The Walk of Fame Awards added a special dimension with our Griffin Scholar, Stacey Rossi; our alumni honorees, Dane Davis and Barry Jantz; our business partners, and of course, Trustee Wendell Cutting as he received the Meritorious Service Award. Thanks to everyone for your support. We look forward to growing the Foundation even more under the energetic leadership of Ken Sobel, Foundation President.

The headline in Sunday's UT sports section said "Grossmont wallops Chaffey to advance" -- and so they did, 26-7 in the Verizon Bowl in Ranch Cucamonga. Next, they will play College of the Canyons (also unbeaten) in Valencia this Saturday, November 27

The Griffins remain perfect on the season with an overall mark of 11-0 and remain ranked #2 in the state and #1 in Southern California, and #3 in the nations.
