Program Description: Instructional Services was created in January, 2003. Broad guidelines for the position included within its purview the evening and weekend college programs, academic support to the Academic Vice President and Instructional Deans. In the past year, the position has evolved into and acquired the following additional responsibilities: strategic planning workshops for instructional deans and preparation for the WASC ACCJC campus-wide self-study.

Activity #1: Leadership and facilitation of strategic plans for departments of Instructional Deans.

Expected Benefit: Empowerment of departments to create objectives and action plans to achieve overall improvement of facilities and programs within their areas.

Activity #2: Administrative leadership for WASC ACCJC self-study.

Expected Benefit: Facilitation of campus-wide unification, focus, and dialogue as the college moves through the steps of self-study

Activity #3: Leadership and in-depth knowledge for the pursuit of excellence in all areas of the curriculum development and review process.

Expected Benefit: In-depth knowledge of degrees, programs, coursework, and alignment issues will enable a smooth interface in working with faculty who are developing proposals..

Activity #4: Development of new ways of monitoring and evaluating budget areas for part-time and overload salaries.

Expected Benefit: Insights in forecasting targets.

Activity #5: Professional Development Workshops

Expected Benefit: Provide faculty with information which facilitates student learning
