Instructional Computing Services

Program Description: Instructional and Technology Resources include
Instructional Computing Services (ICS), Technology Planning, Tutoring, Distance
Education, Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning (CATL), and the
Student Educational Technology Lab (SETL).
Activity #1: Hire new Network Specialist
Expected Benefit: Support and maintenance of growing technology
infrastructure
Activity #2: Procure technology resources to aid in systems
administration of instructional computing.
Expected Benefit: Implementation of software metering, software
patch deployment and installation will enable labs to save time and money.
Activity #3: Develop a plan for the maintenance and support of the
Technology Center.
Expected Benefit: Faculty, staff and students will have access to
technology resources.
2003 – 2004 Accomplishments
- The title of the Distance Ed Manual has been changed to Guidelines for Good
Practice and has been posted on the web under Faculty and Staff.
- A timeline for the transition of labs into the Tech Center has been developed
and circulated among stakeholders.
- A staffing request has been submitted to the Staffing Committee after
consultation with Information Systems and Administrative & Technology Advisory
Council.
