Who is Eligible?

DSPS provides services to any enrolled Grossmont College student who has a verified disability which may affect academic and personal success. Students with either permanent or temporary disabilities are eligible.

Decisions regarding the accommodations to be provided are made on an individualized basis by a DSPS specialist in consultation with the student.

Grossmont College provides services to students with these disabilities:

  • Learning Disability
  • Mobility Limitation
  • Acquired Brain Injury
  • Deaf/hearing Impairment
  • Psychological Disability
  • Visual Impairment
  • Developmental Delay
  • Speech/language Disability
  • Other Documented Disability

Each disability has different eligibility standards. After consultation with a DSPS specialist, students may be requested to submit additional documentation that will assist in clarifying the most appropriate level of service.

It is the responsibility of each student to provide written documentation of a disability, which must be on file before services will be provided.
