    How to Submit
 

You must submit both a Photoshop file that shows all the layers and a jpg file. Submit the Photoshop file to the instructor by selecting the Assignment link in Blackboard. Submit the jpg file as an attachment to your Week 6 discussion on Blackboard.

 
 Naming file
  Name it (yourlastname_p1, example: dean_p1.psd)  
       
Description
  Create a collage of a past memory from your life. It can be a significant moment, a trip you took, a gift you're creating for a loved one, a concert you attended or whatever you like. Using the examples in Lessons 4 and 5 as models, create a collage of your own that includes one retouched image. If you do not have a photo you can retouch there are some below you can use.  
       
Project Goal 
  The goal is to display your mastery of selection tools, layer basics, image retouching and creativity. Your work must include a minimum of the following technical elements to get a "C" grade. To get an "A", you will use each of these elements effectively and beyond the minimum. Also your selection edges need to be very clean.

  ___ 1. Appropriate subject matter.
  ___ 2. Composite images = 5 to 8. (scanned images, digital photographs, scanned drawings, even scanned items e.g. fabric.)
  ___ 3. Image dimensions = Do not exceed 8" in any dimension.
  ___ 4. Resolution = 72 dpi.
  ___ 5. # layers = minimum 6.
  ___ 6. All layers must have a brief, descriptive name.
  ___ 7. Image mode = RGB.
  ___ 8. Colors used = web safe colors.
  ___ 9. Do at least 10 of the following:
 
___ Straighten and crop image.
___ Adjust tonal range of the image.
___ Remove a color cast of an image using Auto Color correction.
___ Adjust the saturation and brightness of isolated areas of an image using the Sponge and Dodge tools.
___ Apply the Unsharp Mask filter to finish the photo-retouching process.
___ Use the Clone Stamp tool to eliminate an unwanted part of the image.
___ Use the Spot Healing brush to repair part of an image.
___ Use the Healing Brush and Patch tools to blend in corrections.
___ Make corrections on a duplicate layer and adjust it for a natural look.
___ Use the History Brush to partially restore and image to a previous state.
___ Move and duplicate the contents of a selection.
___ Rotate a selection.
___ Apply a blending mode to a layer.
___ Link layers to work on them simultaneously.
___ Apply a gradient to a layer.
___ Add text to a layer.
___ Add a layer effect to a layer.
